My Assessment of Sugar Bonanza Deluxe
Sugar Bonanza Deluxe is a medium-volatility pay-anywhere slot from Skywind, widely released on 30 March 2023. It uses a 6x5 grid, collapsing wins and additive Jelly multipliers during Free Games. The highest RTP configuration is 96.50% and the game caps awards at 10,000x the total stake. My rating is 4.3. Mechanically it is familiar, but the rules are coherent and easier to verify than the exaggerated claims in the old review.

Skywind supplies three mathematical configurations. The 96.50% version is respectable, while 89.50% represents a house edge of 10.50% and is a very different proposition. Check the information screen in the loaded game rather than assuming that the highest figure applies.
Pay anywhere and Collapsing Reels
Eight or more identical regular symbols anywhere on the grid create a win. Symbols do not need to touch, and there are no fixed paylines. Winning icons are removed, the remainder falls into the gaps and new symbols enter from above. Further wins repeat the collapse within the same paid round.
Payments are divided by symbol count, generally 8–9, 10–11 and 12 or more. Premium sweets sit above fruit symbols in the paytable. There is no conventional Wild, so natural symbol volume drives both the initial result and every follow-up collapse.
I regard the base game as functional rather than original. Cascades create movement, but the mathematics do not develop between spins and multiplier Jellies are reserved for the bonus.
Free Games and Jelly multipliers
Four, five or six lightning-bolt Scatters award 10, 15 or 20 Free Games. Three or more Scatters during the feature add another five spins. The pay-anywhere and collapsing rules continue unchanged.
Jelly multipliers with values from 2x to 100x can appear during Free Games. After the cascade sequence has generated an eligible win, all multiplier values visible on that resolving spin are added and applied to the win total. Two Jellies showing 10x and 25x therefore produce 35x, not 250x.
| Element | Published rule | My practical reading |
|---|---|---|
| 4 / 5 / 6 Scatters | 10 / 15 / 20 Free Games | More trigger symbols provide more starting chances rather than a separate feature. |
| 3+ bonus Scatters | Add 5 Free Games | Retriggers can extend a productive round. |
| One Jelly | 2x–100x | The value matters only when the spin also produces a qualifying win. |
| Several Jellies | Values are added | The feature uses an additive multiplier total. |
The distinction between landing a multiplier and using it matters. A 100x Jelly on a non-winning screen pays nothing by itself, and a long cascade is not guaranteed to attract any multiplier.
Buy In features
Where local rules permit feature purchases, the standard option costs 100x the stake and starts Free Games. The enhanced 250x option also enters the feature but guarantees that each multiplier Jelly carries at least 10x.
The enhanced floor removes the smallest multiplier values; it does not guarantee that a Jelly lands alongside a win or that the round repays 250x. I see the second purchase as a sharply concentrated wager, not a shortcut to the 10,000x cap.
Graphics, sound and mobile play
The game uses the familiar pastel confectionery landscape, with fruit, geometric sweets and bright Jelly multipliers. Symbol shapes remain distinct during fast collapses, and the 6x5 grid scales cleanly to portrait screens. The sound is cheerful and light, although the theme offers little that experienced candy-slot players will not have seen before.

Strengths and weaknesses
- Pros: simple pay-anywhere rules, quick collapsing wins, retriggerable Free Games, additive 2x–100x Jellies and a 10,000x maximum.
- Cons: derivative candy theme, no base-game modifier, multipliers need a simultaneous win, costly 250x purchase and an 89.50% RTP configuration.
Final assessment
Sugar Bonanza Deluxe receives 4.3 from me. It does not reinvent the candy-grid formula, but it executes it competently and the additive Jelly calculation is easy to understand. My preference is the highest-RTP standard game rather than either feature purchase. Demo mode is useful for seeing how often multipliers land without an accompanying win, which is the main source of frustration.
