Adam Finch

Hi, I'm Adam Finch, an iGaming editor-in-chief, journalist and the editor behind SlotsBonanza. I live in Sydney, Australia, and spend much of my working life researching casino games, checking claims and turning complicated slot mechanics into information that players can actually use.

My photo

I have always been interested in the point where games, psychology and technology meet. A slot is more than its reels and headline maximum win: its pace, sound, interface, volatility and bonus structure all shape the player's experience. My job is to look past the theme and promotional language, establish how a game works and explain both its appeal and its limitations.

My work in iGaming

I work across online iGaming publications as an editor and journalist. My responsibilities include writing online casino and slot reviews, fact-checking articles, editing contributors' work and making sure published information is clear, current and properly qualified. That can mean checking a licence against an official register, reading bonus terms line by line or confirming whether a provider offers several RTP configurations for the same game.

Good gambling journalism should help readers make informed decisions, not simply repeat an operator's sales pitch. I separate verifiable facts from editorial opinion, explain important conditions in plain English and flag details that could materially affect a player's experience. If a claim cannot be confirmed, I would rather qualify it or leave it out than present an assumption as fact.

Why I created SlotsBonanza

I created SlotsBonanza as an independent editorial guide and a structured catalogue for one of the industry's most recognisable families of games. I am a genuine fan of Bonanza-style slots, but enthusiasm does not mean automatic approval. The name now appears across very different releases, from cluster pays and tumble games to Megaways titles, fishing features, multiplier mechanics and high-volatility bonus formats.

That variety is exactly why the site exists. In the Bonanza slot catalogue, I organise games so readers can compare mechanics and find titles that match their preferences without relying on a familiar name alone. Some releases use the label creatively; others borrow it without offering much beyond the branding. My reviews are intended to make that distinction clear.

How I research a game

Every useful review begins with the primary material available for the game: the provider's official page, the in-game help file, paytable and rules. I check the developer, release details, reel layout, win system, bonus triggers, feature rules, stated volatility, published RTP options and maximum-win limit wherever those details are available.

I also consider how the parts work together. A feature may sound generous in a short description but occur inside a very volatile mathematical model. A large advertised maximum win may be technically possible while remaining an exceptionally rare outcome. Multiple RTP versions can also mean that the figure shown on a provider's website is not necessarily the configuration used by a particular casino. I draw attention to those practical differences rather than treating headline numbers as the whole story.

The final assessment is my professional editorial opinion. It reflects the clarity of the rules, the quality and originality of the mechanics, audiovisual execution, mobile usability, feature balance and the transparency of the information supplied to players. A rating is never a prediction of returns, and no review can change the random outcome of a spin.

Games, psychology and the player experience

One of my main interests is the psychology of game design and the relationship between players and casinos. I pay attention to how anticipation is created, how information is presented and how features such as near-miss animations, collection meters, rapid play and celebratory effects influence perception. These elements can make a game engaging, but they should not be confused with evidence that a win is due or that a feature can be reliably anticipated.

I approach casino content with the same distinction in mind: entertainment value is subjective, while financial risk is real. Slots are random games with a house edge, not a dependable way to make money. I support clear limits, informed play and the freedom to stop. The editorial approach behind the site is explained further on the About SlotsBonanza page.

Crypto, technology and casino publishing

Outside traditional iGaming coverage, I follow cryptocurrencies as an investor and as a journalist interested in digital finance. Crypto, payments and online gambling increasingly overlap, which raises useful questions about speed, privacy, custody, fees, volatility and regulation. I treat those subjects analytically and avoid presenting either gambling or digital assets as a shortcut to profit. Crypto prices can move sharply, and nothing I write should be read as personal financial advice.

Life beyond the editorial desk

Sydney is home, although travel is an important part of my life. I am happiest when a trip includes open roads, wildlife and enough time to understand a place beyond its busiest attractions. Canada is a regular destination because I have relatives there, and the contrast between its landscapes and the Australian environment never loses its appeal.

I love dogs, enjoy driving and have practised capoeira for more than ten years. Capoeira demands rhythm, observation, control and the ability to respond to changing movement. Those qualities are useful away from training too, particularly in editorial work where attention and adaptability matter more than loud certainty.

My editorial commitment

My aim on SlotsBonanza is straightforward: publish honest, readable reviews; maintain a dependable catalogue; and give readers enough context to judge a game for themselves. I update material when reliable new information becomes available and welcome corrections when a factual detail has changed or a source needs another look.

I do not promise winning systems, guaranteed returns or safe slots. What I can offer is careful research, transparent opinion and a consistent standard of fact-checking. That is the work behind every page carrying my name.
